Percy Lund - Applications for Copyright

These records can be found in the National Archives and are clearly works that have been copyrighted by Percy Lund, however Percy did apply for copyright for many other photographs on behalf of professional photographers. He advertised a service in The Photographers World whereby on payment of a fee he would submit the necessary forms along with two copies of the photograph.

The reference here to Alfred Ford Smith is interesting. Alfred was a professional photographer operating from Park Row in Leeds and prior to this he worked from Llandudno with his brother Frank Ford Smith who is shown in the 1871 census as an artist. Alfred used the name Fordsmith on his photos rather than Ford Smith.
