What to do upon arrival
- Park on parking space behind house following additional bend
- Turn on main electricity switch in kitchen (if not already on)
- Main electricity switch is in grey switchboard in kitchen (to turn on: find two switches in lower left corner)
- Second electricity board upstairs next to upper main sleeping room (not generally needed)
- Open main water tap in basement (if not already open)
- Open large green wall-mounted tap at the bottom left
- Plug cable of the water pump into electrical socket marked "suppresseur" (pump is noisy)
- Double check that taps in kitchen, bathrooms (down- & upstairs) and outside (on terrace in front of kitchen) are closed
- If water pump starts pumping in regular intervals without water being used -> a water tap is still open / dripping
- If water pump pumps continuously without interruption, open green wall-mounted tap at the left behind water pump
- Open external gas supply behind kitchen wall in wooden shed for cooking and heating
- Open the lock on the gas hut with smallest silver-coloured key (additional key above entrance door)
- The red arrow on wall indicates direction of gas bottle to open
- Open valve on top of green bottle to which red arrow points
- Open internal gas switch next to kitchen oven
- Switching on gas heater in lower bathroom
- Plug in cable of the water heater (if not already done)
- Switch on power (turn small knob on left from 0 to I)
- Turn gas switch to vertical position (wall-mounted switch with red arrow below heater)
- Open warm water tap to check functioning (you will hear small gas explosion)
- Adjust water temperature (right knob, best is 'E'), for only water (in summer) make sure left knob is on 'sanitaire'
- If water is cold / does not become warm and small red LED for flame blinks
- - turn (red arrow) gas switch below heater first in horizontal, then again in vertical position
- - press small round button next to 0/I switch to reset heater
- - open warm water tap to check functioning
- - else try changing gas bottle outside
- If gas bottle change needed:
- - close valve of used bottle, turn red arrow of bottle selector to unused bottle,
- - open valve on top of new bottle
- - open and close gas switches below heater in bathroom and next to oven in kitchen
- Switch on fridge(s) in kitchen
- If needed, heat house
- Three main heating possibilities
- - Stove in kitchen and open fire place in hall
- - Radiators heated with gas heater from the bathroom
- - Individual electrical heaters (costly in consumption, risk of overheating)
