The challenge has been extended to us to become teachers who teach in The Savior's way.
This is easier to envision when we realize that we have the perfect example to learn from in the Savior.
He was The Master Teacher. To become like Him, we need to learn how the Savior taught and then emulate Him.
The lds.org website identifies the following 10 key attributes or characteristics utilized by the Savior that helped to make Him a Master Teacher. These can be divided into four areas of focus for improvement:
Our Selves
Becoming a teacher who teaches in The Savior's way goes beyond having knowledge,
but requires a way of living that testifies of the things being taught.
Our Relationships
These are the outward expressions and actions needed to build the bond with students allowing Master Teaching to occur.
Our Teaching Methods
Each of these methods promotes the opportunity for the student to discover truth for themselves,
rather than just being a receptor of data or information.
Our Invitations
This takes the teaching experience beyond just learning and moves it into a means to facilitate change.
