An unforgettable experience, this camp is all about new adventures! Each camper can get hands on by helping our keepers feed and clean up after our critters. This camp shows campers a new perspective on nature and what it takes to care for animals on a wildlife refuge.
During camp, we will:
Day 1:
Have a "snowball" fight in class.
Go crabbing on the National Wildlife Refuge Beach.
Conduct an experiment focused on propulsion.
Day 2:
Play water sports on San Diego Bay.
Meet an amazing ocean animal ambassador.
Collect plankton using a Plankton Tow and observe them under a microscope.
Day 3:
Meet a green sea turtle.
Learn about sharks and rays.
Conduct a shark stomach experiment.
Day 4:
Play water sports on San Diego Bay.
Make slime to take home.
Touch tide pool animals.
Day 5:
Perform animal keeper duties for both avian and aquariums.
Conduct a balance experiment.
Meet a raptor.
All camp schedules and activities are subject to change based off organizational and animal needs.
