Helen Webb writes:
'Three quarter peals were scored for the 10-bell quarter peal day at St Clement Danes today: the first quarter peals on 10 bells rung by the Guild for nearly 14 years. A fourth quarter peal fired-out but, like the ringing in all of the quarters, it was of a good standard and a pleasure to listen to.
A first quarter peal on 10 bells was scored by Mary Gilbert of Western District.
Twenty four members, and two associated laddies, took part; the members came from from eight of the nine districts: Western, Southern, South Eastern, Eastern, Central, South Midlands, Marches and North Western.
A minutes' silence was observed prior to each quarter peal in remembrance of two former Presidents of the Guild who were called home to rest in January: Jill Staniforth on 7th January, and Freda Cannon on 14th January.
Thank you to all of the ringers for making the trip to London to support the event.'
