So far, two generation of Wolf samurai have been played:
The Founders - Tomochi, Takumi, Netsuko, Yukio and Ryoji
The Firstborn - Ichigo, Hayato, Kyoshi and Hashi
These ancestors are honoured in the shrines of the Wolf Clan, and are called upon to provide guidance and wisdom for their descendants.
Okami Tomochi ruled from the founding of the Wolf Clan in 1121 until his death in battle against the Soshi Murai in 1140. He was appointed to his position by the Emperor in a sacred ceremony on Seppun Hill, where the Kami first fell to earth.
Tomochi was the eldest son of Akodo Hokori and Akodo Tomoyo no Shiba. He had two sisters, Sameko (who married into the Bayushi) and Nano (who married into the Boar). Tomochi married Soshi Murai Honami in 1121. They had one son, born in 1123, but their marriage was ended in 1126 when Okami Honami no Soshi fled Kanazawa with with infant son. Tomochi remarried in 1131, marrying Seppun Li (who took the name Chusei). They had three children, a son (born 1133) and two daughters (born 1134 and 1137). Tomochi also adopted Okami Ichigo as his heir in 1131.
Tomochi was renowned as a great general and warrior, and was instrumental in the rise to power of Iuchi Ayano Akemi. He was known for leading the rediscovery of the Boar Clan and for his fondness for kite-flying. Tomochi was slain in battle by the forces of Soshi Murai Rei after she used the blessing of the kami to hide her armies, allowing her to dishonourably ambush and kill both Iuchi Ayano Akemi and Okami Tomochi no Akodo.
These ancestors are not publicly venerated or honoured, and are only remembered in the secret records of Okami Aragashi.
Okami Yukio no Tsuruchi
Okami Yukio no Tsurichi joined the Wolf Clan as the representative of the Phoenix Clan (a somewhat baffling move whose motives are still not understood). An archer almost without equal, Yukio felled many foes of the Wolf Clan upon the battlefield, earning much glory for himself and his clan. He was known for his understanding of the virtue of Compassion above all else, and was much loved by the common folk in Kanazawa.
Yukio was married to Soshi Saibankan Hoshiko (who also appears only in the records of Okami Aragashi) and the two had many children. Following her dismissal from the Wolf. Yukio remarried a Kitsuki-trained magistrate.
Yukio claimed to have been a ronin prior to his entry to the Wasp Clan, and this story was believed by all until 1140. At this point, Okami Chusei uncovered that Yukio was in fact the son of farmers, and had committed a capital crime by pretending to be a member of the samurai caste. Okami Tomochi cast him out of the clan - so poor was Yukio's grasp of bushido that he took this as a kindness. The peasants of Kanazawa whisper that the great archer has not abandoned the city and will return in its hour of greatest need.
