内容解説：沖縄島において、琉球列島固有種ミナミアシシロハゼの生活史を明らかにした。本種は、4、5月に泥質干潟域に加入後、河川汽水域上部へ移動する。水温が急激に低下する12月以降に急成長し、成熟が始まる。1–5月の産卵期になると、産卵床の転石付近に集まる。また、本種は、産卵後死亡する年魚であると考えられた。以上のように本種は、内湾環境、泥質干潟、汽水域までの連続した環境セットがなければ生活史を完結できないことが明らかになった。
