Teaching

Late Updated: Nov. 2013

The following pages seek to give a bit of insight into my teaching experience and ideas.

Teaching Philosophy -- An introduction to my teaching philosophy. My full philosophy document can also be downloaded from this page.

Teaching Methods (Informal Ideas) -- Some short, informal snippets of ideas and practices that are part of my teaching. Some are things I do all the time, some are ideas that motivate my teaching choices, some are hopes and dreams.

Sample Assignments/Assessments -- This is what it sounds like, some samples of my favorite and interesting assignments or assessments I've given.

Sample Course -- This is a sample course proposal for a junior/senior level introduction to Complex Networks & Systems. It could easily be made accessible to sophomores with a change/reduction in reading assignments & slightly different homework. The topic is also reasonable for freshmen, but would be a larger adjustment of course content/execution (less topics, a bit more in-depth/hands-on).

Previous Teaching Responsibilities -- A list of all the classes I've been part of teaching, both as the instructor of record and as a teaching assistant.

Reflections on Student Evaluations -- Personal reflections on the student evaluations I've received from different courses. Some of the actual evaluations are also available.
