Directions to Using 2012 Lilly Graduate's Expectations Survey

First, understand that the survey has been put together in Qualtrics, and shared through the Center for Teaching Excellence's library.

Using Qualtrics:

  • Information, Login Link and a link to request an account are found at:
  • Click the link on the above page, and login using your LDAP (regular university) account

Importing the Survey:

  1. Click "Create Survey" in the upper left
  2. Click "Survey Library" in the lower right
    1. Choose "Group: CTE Community" on the drop-down menu of libraries
    2. Select "Lilly Grad 2012 Class Expectations" on the drop-down of surveys
  3. Rename your survey (I recommend including the semester and class to help keep yourself organized)

Sending the Survey to Students:

  1. Once you've finished editing, near the top of the page on the right click "Launch Survey"
  2. Click "Activate Survey"
  3. Copy the anonymous link (right click on link, select "copy link address")
  4. Send an email to your class containing the link (in the email you can just "paste")

Modifications & Other Helpful hints:

  • Read over the list of components in Question 4, if you feel any are really not applicable to your class, delete them. The deletion will ALSO happen for questions 5 and 6 (the importance ranking).
  • To Adjust the order of questions, click a question then on the left of the question click the grey up/down arrows.
  • To add a question, click a question and on the right click the green "+" ... above if you want the new question first, below if you want it after that ??
  • To delete a question, click a question and on the right, click the red "-"
  • Any question with a RED asterisk "*" requires a response. This can be turned off by clicking the question and modifying the option on the right question tool bar.
