Introduction

This is a team project where you will explore the environmental impacts of clothing and take action to make systemic change through meaningful and sustainable clothing choices.

Let's get started

Station 1

  1. Complete C4C 1. Project planner.

    • Read through the rest of the stations.

    • Set goals for each week. (Which tasks to accomplish). Be specific with the description of the tasks.

    • Each box = one class, you may plan to work on the weekend if needed.

    • Fill in your planner for 4 weeks.

Station 2

  1. Follow your planner.

  2. Complete C4C 2. Task log each class.

  • Describe your task

  • Keep track of how much time you spent on the task (0.5/1/1.5 hours, etc.)

  • Evaluate your productivity (I, 1, 2, 3, 4). See picture above for the description.

Station 3

  1. Complete C4C 3. Clothing reflection PowerPoint (in Teams Assignments).

    • Discuss with your group

    • Take turns typing.

Station 4

  1. Watch video. Trouble with clothes.

    • pair up and discuss ideas, then narrow down and write down TWO Partner Key Ideas

    • in group of 4, discuss ideas, then narrow down and write down ONE Group Key Idea.

Station 5

  1. Complete C4C 5. Braintstorming an action PowerPoint (in Teams Assignments).

    • Read over the Social Ripple Effect.

    • Brainstorm some solutions to reduce clothing related greenhouse gas emissions. Share ideas on the white board.

    • Select an action to pursue. If you are stuck, check out this page for ideas.

    • Add names, specific tasks/details, and deadlines to your project planner from Station 1.

Station 8

  1. Complete C4C 8. What are clothes made of.

    • Go to all about clothes backgrounder.

    • Go through the interactive slides and complete C4C 9.

    • Filter the external resources -> concepts dropdown -> to research more about natural or synthetic fibres.

    • Play the Jeopardy game to check your knowledge

    • Work on yoour action and artifact.

Station 10

  1. Complete C4C 10. Peer evaluate

    • Peer evaluate 2 other projects.

    • Pick TWO prompts to answer from the choice board.

    • Review your feedback with your peer.

    • Consider the feedback and make revisions to your project if necessary.

Station 11

  1. Present (PowerPoint) to the class. Show what you have learned about clothing and climate AND explain your action/artifact. Aim for ~4 minutes.

  2. Complete C4C 11. Reflection.

  3. Optional: share a snippet of your action with other students across Canada on the lets talk science website.
