Here's how it all went:
Thursday 22nd - Dunstan's Stag Day and Night - the gentlemen took a vast five-hour, two-punt expedition towards Grantchester (we turned back at last, but I am sure it was around the next bend) fuelled by snacks and Coke. We sheltered from bursts of rain twice, and Dunstan lost the pole three times. Great fun! We ate Japanese food for dinner at Wagamama, then had lots of conversation over beer at the Anchor (and a bottle of champagne - thanks Luke). Kelli was passing by with some friends and they chose to invade, but they didn't see anything. Later the groom was escorted to another bar, where he had a great chat with his future brother-in-law, and finally they went to La Raza for live jazz and Bellinis (thanks again Luke!).
Friday 23rd - Bridal Shower - Kelli was treated to a wonderful morning of games, gifts, decorations and celebrations by her bridesmaids, family and friends. The highlights included a special version of The Newlywed Game, a photo album of Kelli's Princeton days, and a preview of our guest book, a specially printed cookbook with recipes from family and friends all over the world!
In the afternoon it was time for the wedding rehearsal - the time to think about all kinds of little details that couldn't be planned ahead, such as who sits where and says what when. It was a chance to meet some of the guests in the church, and even more at the Granta, the pub where Kelli and Dunstan met. We chatted over a barbecue and strawberries at enormous eight-seater tables until it went dark!
Saturday 24th - Wedding Day - More details later!
