Music can really bring memories to life. Here's what guests heard at the church and at the reception.
During the service itself, Pippa Jones played the following pieces on 'cello:
Seating of the Mothers: Prelude, Suite in G Major, J.S. Bach
Bridesmaids' Processional: Allemande, Suite in G Major, J.S. Bach
Interlude: Largo, Sonata in G Major, F. Chopin (with Mark Dawes on piano)
Mark Dawes played the following on the organ:
Prelude: Rhosymedre, Ralph Vaughan Williams
First Hymn: How Great Thou Art, Sanningsvittnet
Second Hymn: Be Thou My Vision, Mary E. Byrne
Recessional: Toccata, Organ Symphony no. 5, Charles-Marie Widor
Thanks for all your ideas for the music at the reception! We passed all of your ideas on to Darryl the DJ, along with our own. It was far too much for only two hours, but we were very happy with the results! The dancefloor (with its fancy lightshow) was never empty, and the bride and groom had a great time dancing with family and friends. We really put the wedding dress through its paces!
As a reminder, here is how we topped and tailed the playlist:
First Dance - Beyond the Sea by Bobby Darin
Parent-Child Dance - The Way You Look Tonight by Frank Sinatra
Everybody Dance - Can't Hurry Love by The Supremes
Antepenultimate Dance - Never Forget by Take That
Penultimate Dance - Walkin' On Sunshine by Katrina and the Waves
Last Dance - Come Away With Me by Norah Jones
So if you are looking for an experienced DJ (or equipment hire) in the Cambridge area, we heartily recommend Cambridge Sound to anyone!
