Setup instructions for BPQ32 Node/BBS/Chat (Windows 7 configuration with port 4 Signalink Soundcard TNC and.or port 5 Hardware TNC)
1. Download and install BPQ32 software-thanks to G8BPQ John for providing this software.

2. Setup/configure your BPQ32 config file
Download sample BPQ32 config file at the bottom of this page, you can edit your callsign, and the following info
to edit config file goto BPQ folder on your computer and click 'View configuration folder' you must save the file as '.CFG' for it to work properly
CALLSIGN=your callsign
where it shows XXXXXX just choose your own password
where it shows ****** just edit your info
NODECALL =your callsign-7
LOCATOR=your maidenhead grid square locator
NODEALIAS=6 characters max (eg: suffix or your call plus 'BPQ')
MAPCOMMENT= edit as you want
IDMSG=your callsign BPQ Node
BTEXT=CALLSIGN-7 BPQ Node, CITY,STATE
INFOMSG: CALLSIGN-7 BPQ Node-state what equipment/frequencies you are using.
APPLICATION 1,BBS,,CALLSIGN-4,NODEALIAS,255 (Node alias could be suffix of your call and BBS)
APPLICATION 2,CHAT,,CALLSIGN-5,NODEALIAS,255 (Node alias could be suffix of your call and CHT)

in the config file if the text line starts with ' ; ' it is just comments and not part of the config file
port 4=Signalink Soundcard TNC
port 5=Hardware TNC
if you are going to run Hardware TNC you must put the Hardware TNC in KISS mode before running BPQ

3. Download and install this program from UZ7HO-Thanks to Andy for providing this program.
Installing and configuring UZ7HO Soundmodem and Easyterm programs for packet radio
on Soundmodem for 'devices' make sure input/output device is 'USB codec'
AGWPE is 8000
KISS is 8100
Load Soundmodem (if you want to use Signalink Soundcard TNC) or run your Hardware TNC in Kiss Mode
Set Soundmodem to AFSK AX.25 300 baud for HF Packet or AFSK AX.25 1200baud for VHF Packet) and/or set your Hardware TNC for 300 baud for HF Packet or 1200 baud for VHF Packet
Load BPQ Terminal
Load BPQ Mail Server (if you want to run BBS)
Load BPQ Chat (if you want to run chat)
set your frequency for radio connected to Signalink Soundcard TNC and/or set your frequency to radio connected to Hardware TNC
Set your radio mode to USB for Signalink Soundcard TNC (300 baud HF Packet) and/or set your radio mode to FM for 1200 baud VHF Packet
4. To check your settings via web browser click: http://localhost:8080/Node/NodeIndex.html

5. Under BPQ Console Window click 'Window' then 'BPQ config' then 'Beacon settings' to edit your beacon interval in minutes (suggested to run beacon at 20 minute intervals)
6. To setup BBS/Mail Server, load 'BPQ Mail' then click 'Configuration' then click 'Main configuration'
type in your BBS call=your callsign and SYSOP call=your callsign

To check your BBS , on BPQ Terminal, type 'BBS' you should be able to log into your own BBS
to put a text file on your BBS place it in the BPQMailChat folder
to get a list of text files on your BBS, type FILES or LISTFILES from the BBS prompt
to view a text file on your BBS type READ FILENAME from the BBS prompt
7. To configure BPQ Chat
Load BPQ Chat
Click configuration
Set APPL #=2, Streams=5
To test your Chat System from BPQ Terminal, type 'Chat' you should be able to log into your Chat system
