Packet Radio
If you are interested in doing packet radio in North Georgia, please visit:
https://groups.io/g/packetradio-northgeorgia
My packet radio station is on the air on an experimental basis:
145.750 MHz: KE4QCM-7 BPQ Node-Stone Mtn,GA QCMBBS:KE4QCM-4, QCMCHT:KE4QCM-11 reachable via W4NWG-15 digipeater- sometimes I also on 145.590 MHz via digipeaters: LAWGA/WX4NET-7, BUFGA/WX4NET-6. QCMBBS:KE4QCM-4 is my PBBS and QCMCHT:KE4QCM-11 is my chat server that is connected to the worldwide chat server. I like packet radio for the conversational QSO, sending and receiving PBBS messages/bulletins from the ARRL and DX/technical bulletins (store and forward capability) and chatting with the worldwide chat server meeting hams in other parts of the USA and other countries. I am also active on 40m and 20m hf packet.

QCMBBS:KE4QCM-4 is my BPQ32 BBS that has packet radio bulletins and BBS messages.
QCMCHT:KE4QCM-11 connects to my BPQ32 Chat server which is connected to other worldwide chat servers.
If you would like to get into Packet Radio and you are currently running any of the new digital modes such as FT-8 with a soundcard TNC such as the Signalink TNC you already have the necessary equipment to get into packet radio on either VHF or HF using either a Windows or a Linux system.
Also, see the instructions below for how to setup your packet radio station using a soundcard TNC and/or a hardware TNC such as a AEA PK232, Kantronics KamPlus, etc. There are also instructions for setting up a BPQ node and a BBS and Chat option also.
