White Tara

The tradition tells that many Tibetan meditation masters have Arya Tara as their personal yidam. A yidam is said to be a manifestation of enlightened mind. During personal meditation the yogi identifies their own form, attributes and mind with that of the deity. These deities have distinctive iconography, mandala, mantra, rites of invocation and practice.

White Tara holds the attributes of wisdom, compassion and long life.
