Refrigerator Quilts
These are quilts made out of scraps, and thus the title: all the leftovers from all the other quilts.
First I pick a two or three color combination. Then the scraps, none larger than 5" long and generally about 3" square are then randomly sewn together in blocks of varying sizes. They are usually around 12 to 15 inches on a side. When there are enough of these blocks, they are put together in a puzzle set. Then a border is added and they are hand-quilted. They vary in size, but are intended as lap quilts: 45" by 65".
