DOUGLAS ANGUS was born at Colac, Victoria on the 7 February 1915. He enlisted in the Australian Army at Caulfield, Victoria on the 22 June 1940, service number VX 40113. At this time he was living at Curdies River in country Victoria. Douglas was posted to the 2/23 Australian Infantry Battalion. He was sent overseas to active service and was killed in Tobruk on the 17 May 1941, aged 26.

He was buried at the Knightsbridge War Cemetery, Acroma, Libya 7D 21. His sacrifice for his country is also commemorated on the Australian War Memorial.
