End Bullying and Spread Act of Kindness
Fall 2017
Two Winners This School Year! (2015-2016)
A 5th Grade student won 3rd place at the annual spring SLPS St. Louis Zoo art contest! The artwork is composed of two zebra silhouettes resting on a contrasting watercolor gradient washed background. The competition had students choose an animal with a unique survival adaption! Zebras stripes allow them to blend together in a herd and hide from other animals! This student won 3rd place in painting out of all the elementary schools in the district! It was very exciting!
During the fall of 2015 a 3rd grade student won third place out of all the elementary schools in the SLPS district! The theme of the fall competition was how do you control your anger? I created a project that allowed students to express how they stay cool in a stressful or upsetting situation. This student created a self portrait in cool colors contrasted on a hot background that represented the tough situation he may be in. The student finished the piece by writing the different strategies he uses to calm down and stay peaceful in any situation.
