Fred Russell Tells about his Own Life
My maternal grandfather, Fred Russell, who was a good writer (he studied at the University of Utah to become a lawyer and also loved English), wrote out on a yellow legal pad, his interesting, tell-it-all autobiography at least twice, that I know of. One longer (about 60 pages printed out) version can be read/printed from this website, but once, during August 1977, he read a shorter version to me, which I recorded on a small-hand-held tape recorder. I got about 28 minutes of it, and then the recorder, unfortunately, "died." I have digitized that recording, as well as two short conversations we had that day, and all three can be listened to here. Listen to Fred Russell tell his own story.
The fourth recording is of me reading a shorter biography I wrote about my grandfather for our family reunion in Mesa on Nov. 28, 2008, in which I inserted a couple of snippets of his voice, taken from the longest of his recordings. Listen to that here .
Here are two other snipits of Fred Russell talking.
