p. 49, paragraph 4, line 6: change "m. 5" to "m. 4"
p. 56, example 4.2, translation: after "farewell," insert "my dear,"
p. 75, paragraph 1, line 2: King Louis XVI was the grandson, not the son, of Louis XV (thanks to Evan Edwards of the University of Kansas for this correction)
p. 86, paragraph 1, line 1: change "70" to "65"
p. 96, example 7.1, system 3: first word should be "dol - ce"
p. 103, paragraph 2, line 1: opening quotation mark should be before "loved"
p. 104, paragraph 2, line 10: change "They" to "It"
p. 119, paragraph 3, line 2: change "has" to "as"
p. 129, musical example 9.3. The apostrophe after "B" should be a prime sign
p. 135, example 9.5, measure 2, upper staff: second note (16th note G flat) should be G natural (but without natural sign)
