Poster Competition

2026 Theme: Year of the Horse

Conditions:

• The poster MUST contain the word, "uma　うま　午   " in Japanese in one or more scripts as shown

• Posters should be hand drawn, not a pasted collection of digital images and text. 

• Student names should NOT be on the front of the poster (for privacy reasons) - posters may be published at the discretion of JATNET

• Posters will be judged in 5 categories: Prep-2, Grade 3-4, Grade 5-6, Grade 7-10,  Grade 11-12

• Participating students must be current students of Japanese

• Schools are able to enter 3 posters per category.

• Posters can be any size up to A3 and can be created by individuals or by groups of students (though the prize will need to be divided). 

• Entry is free for schools who have teachers that are JATNET members. 

• Schools not registered with JATNET will incur a non-member fee of $30. 

1. Fill in the form to indicate your school's intention to enter posters into the competition - Click here for the intentions to enter form - coming soon - closes Friday April 2nd 2026.

2. A link will be emailed to you so you can upload student posters to the JATNET Google Drive - uploads close Friday April 16th.

3. Files names MUST follow this convention, otherwise posters will not be included in the judging: 

   1. Grade School Student (no punctuation please)
      eg. Grade 3 Hillview Primary School John Brown.jpg

4. Both PDF or JPG files will be accepted.

5. The judges decision is final. Certificates and prizes will be awarded to the top three entries in each category.
