OLD RI ePCR (obsolete Run Report System)

Overview ...

  • This is the new electronic Patient Care Reporting (ePCR) system that the state is rolling out to all RI EMS Services. We (JFD) need to get everyone comfortable with this new system before we go live with it. Our approach is to make the system available for practice/play as early as possible in the process (now) so that folks who learn by doing can "touch" the system as they see fit. Please feel free to login and play. Many/most licensed JFD EMTs already have their own account in the system. Nothing's live yet. We encourage you to play, add reports, etc....
  • At various points along the path, we will have group and individual training to get everyone comfortable.
  • Our hope is to go live in Sept.
  • Good luck, try it out, we are all learning together. If you have questions, comments, concerns, email ron (rbarber@cox.net) ... At this point I likely don't have many answers, but will track things down as required. If you have complaints, those go higher up the chain.

To get started ...

  • link to http://rhodeisland.emsbridge.com/
  • your username is "emtABCDE" (where ABCDE is your emt #). If your # is less than 5 digits, preceed it with a 0. Example :: Ron's emt # is 14717 ... Ron's username is emt14717. Jim's emt# is 1482 ... Jim's username is emt01482.
  • your password is "welcome1". Note: As soon as you get in, it will make you change your password. Please remember what you change it to. At some point, we'll put everyone's email address in the system such that if you forget your password, you could push the "I forgot my password" button and the system will email it to you.
  • Read and agree to the data privacy statement as you see fit
  • If you've made it this far, you should see FOUR "tabs" at the top of the screen, labeled "Dashboard", "Incidents", "Modules", and "Staff"
  • Following is a brief description of each:
    • Dashboard has some notification areas on which you, the state, or JFD can leave "notes" for you to read
    • Incidents has the following
      • Add Run ... This is where 99% of our training efforts will be spent ... Try to get familiar with everything under here ... Ignore all the other tabs for now
      • Run History ... A place to view past runs
    • Modules has the following
      • Activities ... Theoretical activities (ignore this)
      • Documents ... Theoretical documents (ignore this)
      • Training ... Theoretical training information (ignore this)
    • Staff is a list of people who are entered in the system (ignore this)

Incidents / Add Run ...

  • This is where we're going to spend our time. As this process evolves, I'll put info here ...
  • I believe/hope that we'll be required to fill out the RED sections for all calls, although at this point some REDs seem overkill and some BLACKs seem necessary
  • Ultimately this'll be completely paperless ... signatures (hospital staff, refusals, EMTs, etc...) will all be done on the tablet
  • If you don't know there is a STYLUS inserted in the ToughBooks that makes the touch screens easier to use, now would be a good time to become aware of that feature.
