Call for Papers
30 years ago, a few resources on the Internet began to be linked together. It was one of method to share journal or technical papers. It's the birth of World Wide Web. After that, people around the world came to know that their idea, photos, movies other than the papers could be shared through the web. It was the beginning of web-based social networks. Nowadays, web data includes not only consumer generated media but also automatically generated data by various IoT sensors and smartphones. Some people may not know that their smartphone keep uploading location data. Moreover, ingenious AI engines at a server side infers a new pattern from the data. It is a kind of big data analysis. The network protocol used by this information space is called HTTP whose current version is HTTP/2, and its successor HTTP/3 is also proposed recently. It is changing from the text-based to the binary-based protocol. The data communication is modified to be more efficient. The world gets smarter and smaller with these technology. How do we combine these data and technologies? The answer gives us the next generation of the Internet.
International Workshop on Web Services and Social Media (WSSM) encompasses a wide range of topics in the research, design, and implementation of Web related things, especially, social activity on the Internet. The first workshop on WSSM-2012 was held in Melbourne, Australia. This time, we are honored to hold the 8th workshop on WSSM-2019 in Japan in conjunction with the 22th International Conference on NBiS-2019. This workshop provides an international forum for researchers and participants to share and exchange their experiences, discuss challenges and present original ideas in all aspect of Web Services and Social Media. You are invited to submit papers in these areas and welcome to participate in the workshop. We welcome not only research papers on WSSM technology but also reports on requirements of WSSM in all domains.

Paper Submission
Authors should submit a paper to the WSSM-2019 workshop with maximum 10 pages in length, including all figures, tables, and references. However, authors can add up to 2 extra pages with the appropriate fee payment. Papers must be prepared using the Lecture Notes Style of Springer Proceedings. Submission instructions can be found at the web page at: http://voyager.ce.fit.ac.jp/conf/nbis/2019/.

All accepted papers of the workshop will be included in the NBiS-2019 conference proceedings.
Authors of accepted papers, or at least one of them, are requested to register and present their work at the workshop. Please do follow the announcement on the NBiS-2019 website.
