John is adopted by J. Harman. On April 27, John was captured from the Ipswich Mills Dam box trap in Ipswich. After being tagged, John was transported to the Topsfield stocking site on Salem Road. John was re-introduced to the Ipswich River with 15 other tagged fish.
John was last seen at the stationary receiver at Site 1 (the furthest downstream receiver) on May 7, 2007 at 9:20 pm.
April 27: John was tagged at the Ipswich Mills Dam in Ipswich, then was transported upstream to the Stocking Site.
April 27, 7:24 pm: John moved upstream after stocking, arriving to Site 9 just before 7:30 at night. He stayed in the range of the receiver until 11:11 that night. John then moves out of range for several days.
May 3, 11:59 pm: John comes back into range of the Site 9 receiver, and stays until 12:03 am.
May 4, 2:13 am: After a few hours out of range, John shows up downstream of the Stocking Site at Site 8 early in the morning. He stays breifly, then agin goes out of range for nearly 2 days.
May 6, 10:34 pm: John arrives downstream at Site 7, but passes through quickly.
May 6, 11:55 pm: Still heading downstream, John shows up at the Willowdale Dam. He descends past the dam fairly quickly, and keeps on going.
May 7, 12:07 am: John arrives to Site 5 in a matter of minutes. He doesn't stay long!
May 7, 12:49 am: John enters the swift moving waters of Site 4, and keeps on swimming.
May 7, 1:32 am: It's been a busy morning! John arrives to the receiver at Site 3.
May 7, 1:49 am: It seems that John is ready to take a break after some rapid downstream swimming. He arrives to Site 2, at the Ipswich Mills Dam, and stays in range of the receiver for about 2 hours. He then swims out of range, and we don't hear him again until 7:23 that night. John passes the dam and is last at this site at 9:00pm.
May 7, 9:09 pm: John's picked up the pace again, and after getting past the dam quickly finds his way to the final receiver in the array, Site 1. We last hear John at 9:20 that night.
