Saturday 28th November 2026 - St Andrew's Day Ball from 7.00pm ‘til late! Bookings have opened for the Lisbon St. Andrews Society's annual black tie ball at the beautiful 5-star Hotel Palácio in Estoril. The Society writes: "The evening begins with cocktails followed by a 4-course dinner and continues into the wee small hours with a Scottish ceilidh. This year the dancing will be led by old friends ‘The Haggis Chasers Ceilidh Band’, who will fly in from Scotland specially for the event. Pipe Major Drew Sinclair, will also be with us to pipe us in and give us a few tunes from Scotland and, this year, the ‘Toast to Scotland’ will be given by guest speaker, the Very Rev Dr Angus Morrison (former Chaplain to HM Queen Elizabeth II and appointed an Extra Chaplain to HM King Charles III in 2023). All dances will be called and instructions given, so everyone is welcome, seasoned Scottish dancers and beginners alike. Do come along and enjoy a chance to celebrate in true Scottish style. If you would like to reserve a whole table, these are for 10 or 12, but all numbers can easily be accommodated". The price is 100 euros per person and bookings should be made via Theresa Adams, who will supply you with details of how to pay.
