SATURDAY 7th March 2026: https://my.strathspey.org/dd/list/60878/
The CadiLonians Scottish Country Dance Club (the new name of the Jerez Group) is delighted to host the 30th Iberian Gathering in the city of Cádiz, known as “La Tacita de Plata” (The Little Silver Cup). In Cádiz, more than three thousand years of history are evident on every corner. It’s also famous for its welcoming culture, lively carnivals and beautiful beaches. Located on Spain’s unspoilt Atlantic coast, the architecture of the city and the character of its people have been shaped by the sea, the light and the wind.
The event will be held at the exclusive 4-star “Hotel Cádiz Bahía” overlooking the beach. The ballroom is spacious with plenty of room to dance. There are chill out areas, a spa, swimming pools and direct beach access. Pre-booked parking at the hotel is 18€ per day (unfortunately not 12€ as was previously stated), and subject to availability.
The cost for the whole weekend including accommodation for 2 nights, 2 breakfasts, 2 dinners with drinks included, 2 balls, walkthroughs and 2 classes with live music will be approximately 270€ per person for a double room (or triple room) and 390€ for a single room. Note that the triple rooms are twin rooms with an extra bed, and that for the moment at least, the projected price per person is the same as the price per person for a twin room.
EXTRA NIGHTS: It is now possible to book extra nights at the venue hotel at a discounted price by inserting a code in the red box marked promotional code. To obtain the code, and the detailed information about the discounted prices, please check with the group via which you booked. The CadiLonians group will be arranging a city tour and other activities for attendees who wish to spend more time in this historic city so you are encouraged to book in a couple of days early either directly with the Hotel or accommodation of your choice.
A deposit of 100€ will be required by 17th October 2025 and the balance by 15th January 2026. The amount of the deposit is same for everyone, regardless of the type of room. The deposits are paid in the first instance to the group via which you booked, who forward them, collected together, to the organisers. This vastly simplifies the financial side!
The CadiLonians SCD group are delighted to confirm that Ewan Galloway and Shona MacFadyen will be playing at the event and that the teacher will be Andrew Nolan.
How to book/register your interest: Whilst the ballroom at this venue is very spacious, the response to the weekend from the Iberian groups was so enthusiastic that a waiting list was started. This waiting list became long, and so is now closed. If you need to contact the organisers about this or any other matter, you can write to them at cadilonians (a) gmail.com (when sending an email, just replace (a) with @ )
We look forward to welcoming you all to sunny Cádiz
in the south of Spain in March 2026!!
