The Schiehallion Group- Madrid is delighted to be hosting the 31st Iberian Gathering of Scottish Country Dancing in Ávila, a city located not far from Madrid (approximately 100 km north-west of Madrid).
Ávila and Madrid are well-connected, and trains from Madrid can be accessed from both the Atocha and Chamartín railway stations. Buses are available from the Méndez Alvaro bus station and the Moncloa bus station.
Ávila's medieval centre is very well-preserved and was declared a World Heritage Site in 1985.
The event will be held at the 4* Hotel Palacio de los Velada in Ávila from Friday 5th to Sunday 7th March 2027. The hotel offers excellent accommodation, good services and equipment. It is a 15th-century renovated and extended palace set in the very heart of Ávila's historic centre.
The estimated price for the entire weekend (2 nights' accommodation, 2 breakfasts, 2 set dinners (drinks included), 2 balls and 2 classes with live music, and 2 walkthroughs, will be 260 euros per person in a shared room and 350 euros in a single room.
We have been extremely fortunate to secure the services of musicians Tomás Gonçalves (fiddle) and Benoît Gibson (piano).
We will also be able to enjoy the masterclasses provided by Raphaëlle Orgeret, a very talented and experienced teacher from Lyon, France.
