The Power of Holiness (5) ---
Walking in Meekness
MATTHEW 27:12-14
12 When He was accused by the chief priests and the elders, He gave no answer.
13 Then Pilate asked him, “Don’t you hear the testimony they are bringing against you?”
14 But Jesus made no reply, not even to a single charge – to the great amazement of the governor.
When Jesus did not reply to false charges, He was walking in meekness.
To be meek is to not resist an evil person, and not to return evil for evil.
There will be many times when we will be provoked by evil people.
... Wicked leaders in government who are corrupt and deceptive, boastful and arrogant.
... Evil people who slander and lie about us to others, in our workplace and in our families,
... Worldly people who want to take away from us what does not belong to them.
In such situations, God says that we must walk in meekness and not resist such people.
Forgive and bless them, and God will vindicate you.
If these wicked people do not repent, God will destroy them in God’s timing.
If you walk in meekness, God says that you will inherit the earth.
1. God has promised to give everything in this world to those who are meek
MATTHEW 5:5
5 Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth.
1 PETER 3:9
9 Do not repay evil with evil or insult with insult. On the contrary, repay evil with blessing, because to this you were called so that you may inherit a blessing.
You are blessed by God when you are meek.
God says that you will inherit the earth.
Anything that you have lost to evil people will be restored back to you a million-fold.
God says you will inherit the earth.
When you bless the wicked, God will bless you in return, more than what you can ask or think.
2. To be meek is to “not return evil with evil, but with a blessing”
MATTHEW 5:38-42
38 “You have heard that it was said, ‘Eye for eye, and tooth for tooth.’
39 But I tell you, do not resist an evil person. If anyone slaps you on the right cheek, turn to them the other cheek also.”
1 PETER 3:9
9 Do not repay evil with evil or insult with insult. On the contrary, repay evil with blessing, because to this you were called so that you may inherit a blessing.
In the natural, we always want to take revenge and return evil for evil.
But as God’s children, God wants us to be meek, to not resist an evil person, to not return evil for evil.
This was the example set by Jesus before His accusers.
We should do likewise.
3. In your meekness, believe that God will vindicate you and save you---so rejoice in God’s goodness and vindication
PSALM 37:4, 6; 39-40
4 Take delight in Yehovah, and He will give you the desires of your heart.
6 He will make your righteous reward shine like the dawn, your vindication like the noonday sun.
39 The salvation of the righteous comes from Yehovah; He is their stronghold in time of trouble.
40 Yehovah helps them and delivers them; He delivers them from the wicked and saves them, because they take refuge in Him.
Believe that God will vindicate you as He has promised.
So rejoice in Him.
Delight in Him, and He will give us the desires of our heart.
He will save us, deliver us, and vindicate us.
4. In your meekness, do not fret or get upset with evil men, for they will soon be removed by God
PSALM 37:1-2
1 Do not fret because of those who are evil or be envious of those who do wrong;
2 for like the grass they will soon wither,
like green plants they will soon die away.
PSALM 37:8-9
8 Refrain from anger and turn from wrath;
do not fret – it leads only to evil.
9 For those who are evil will be destroyed,
but those who hope in the Lord will inherit the land.
Do not let evil people cause you to become angry and sin against God.
Do not let them take away your joy in the Lord.
Anger leads only to evil.
Instead, rejoice in God’s goodness and vindication that is coming into your life, for you will inherit the earth.
God will soon destroy such wicked people if they do not repent.
5. In your meekness, trust in the Lord and commit everything into His hands
PSALM 37:3,5
3 Trust in Yehovah and do good; dwell in the land and enjoy safe pasture.
5 Commit your way to Yehovah; trust in Him.
1 PETER 2:23
23 When they hurled their insults at Him, He did not retaliate; when He suffered, He made no threats. Instead, He entrusted Himself to Him who judges justly.
God rules over all men.
He sees what the wicked have done, and He has promised to vindicate you and bless you.
Therefore, we can trust in His promises and rest in His love.
We can commit everything into His hands.
He will do what He has promised.
He will use His almighty power to save us, deliver us, and vindicate us.
God says He will bless you in the end, more than what you can ask or imagine.
6. In your meekness, do good to your enemies
1 PETER 3:9
9 Do not repay evil with evil or insult with insult. On the contrary, repay evil with blessing, because to this you were called so that you may inherit a blessing.
MATTHEW 5:43-45 NKJ
43 “You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall love your neighbour and hate your enemy.’
44 But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you,
45 that you may be sons of your Father in heaven.”
We are commanded to love God and to love all men at all times, even our enemies.
Therefore, continue to do good to all men and bless them, even to those who are evil.
It is our calling to be a blessing to all men.
In this way, we will inherit our blessings.
7. In your meekness, wait patiently for God to vindicate and deliver you, and enjoy His peace and prosperity
PSALM 37:7, 10-11
7 Be still before Yehovah and wait patiently for Him; do not fret when people succeed in their ways, when they carry out their wicked schemes.
10 A little while, and the wicked will be no more; though you look for them, they will not be found.
11 But the meek will inherit the land and enjoy peace and prosperity.
ISAIAH 48:22
22 "There is no peace," says Yehovah, "for the wicked."
God will do what He says and will vindicate you in the end.
The wicked will always be destroyed by God, in due season.
So be patient as you wait for God to vindicate you.
Even right now, though the wicked may seem wealthy on the outside, they do not have the presence of God, or the peace of God in their hearts, and no rest for their souls.
"There is no peace," says Yehovah, "for the wicked."
But the meek will inherit the land and enjoy peace and prosperity.
8. Decreeing the Decrees of Heaven
In Jesus’ name, I declare and decree that,
1. God has promised to give everything in this world to those who are meek.
(MATTHEW 5:5; 1 PETER 3:9)
2. To be meek is to “not return evil with evil, but with a blessing.”
(MATTHEW 5:38-42; 1 PETER 3:9)
3. In my meekness, I will believe that God will vindicate me and save me---so I will rejoice forevermore, in God's goodness and vindication.
(PSALM 37:4-6; PSALM 37:39-40)
4. In my meekness, I will not fret or get upset with evil men, because they will soon be removed by God if they do not repent.
(PSALM 37:1-2; PSALM 37:8-9)
5. In my meekness, I will trust in the Lord and commit everything into His hands.
(PSALM 37:3,5; 1 PETER 2:23)
6. In my meekness, I will do good to my enemies.
(1 PETER 3:9; MATTHEW 5:43-45 NKJ)
7. In my meekness, I will wait patiently for God to vindicate and deliver me and enjoy His peace and prosperity.
(PSALM 37:7, 10-11)

A TESTIMONY
“God vindicated me 10 years after a family accused me of stealing their daughter’s necklace”
(This testimony was given during a Monday night Jubilee Prayer House meeting).
SISTER PPP:
“About 10 years ago, most of my family members had already believed in Jesus as Saviour, but I had not made the decision yet.
At that time, I was still going out with my friends to temples to help them in their celebrations.
“One day, after I had gone out with a family for such a temple celebration, I went to their home to rest.
I rested in the hall and later left the house.
“However, these friends of mine accused me of entering their daughter’s room and stealing her necklace.
I told them that what they said was not true, but they refused to accept my words.
“Even though I was not a baptised believer in Jesus, I told them, ‘My Jesus will show to you all the real culprit.’
I forgave this family and blessed them in my prayers.
“Recently, about 10 years after the incident above, I met the lady who had accused me of stealing her daughter’s necklace.
She told me that they found out later that it was her brother-in-law who had stolen the necklace.
“I thank God that He has vindicated me.
I had trusted that God will show the real culprit to this family, and God did so.
“To God be the glory for His goodness and love.”

A TESTIMONY
“God vindicated me when I was accused of giving away my company director’s personal insurance information to a customer”
SISTER GGG:
“I work for the insurance section of motorcar company that sells cars.
“Last week, one of my company directors, a lady, called me up and told me that I had done something wrong and illegal by giving away the insurance details of another company director to a customer.
“This customer had shown the insurance details to her and said that he had obtained the details from the Indian girl working in the insurance office.
I was the only Indian girl working in the office.
I told this lady director that this allegation is not true.
I told her that I did not steal the information and did not give it to this customer.
“I was very troubled by this false accusation and asked God to help me.
He then gave me the wisdom to talk to this lady director again.
"I told this lady director that if we needed the insurance details of any customer, we will just key in the name of the customer and his IC, and we can then get a printout of the customer's details within one minute.
“However, I pointed out to this lady director that the document that was shown to me by her was not a printout from our company computer.
It was a photocopy copy of the original document that was filed and kept in the director’s office many months ago.
“In other words, I told her that someone had entered the director’s office and made a copy of the original document.
It would take at least half an hour to search through the files that are stored in the director’s office, take out the right document, and then photocopy it.
“So when the directors checked the CCTV, the directors found that it was a worker in the company who had gone into the director’s office, located the insurance details of the company director, photocopied the document, and then handed the photocopy to the customer who accused me of doing it.
“Through this time of false accusation, I did not get angry or curse the one who had falsely accused me.
I sought the Lord for help, and He gave me the wisdom I needed so that I was vindicated.
“To God be the glory!!!”
