THE POWER OF HOLINESS (3)
--- Living in Humility
A believer who is humble is given the Kingdom of Heaven today.
All the riches and blessings of heaven belong to Him today.
To be humble is to live in total dependence on God.
It is to live in total dependence on the word of God and on the Spirit of God.
A humble believer will daily acknowledge with his lips that he needs God in every area of his life, at every moment in time.
He will daily acknowledge that he needs the grace, mercy and help of God to fulfil his calling on this earth.
He declares to God that without God, he can do nothing good or having anything good.
A humble believer will therefore always meditate on the word of God daily.
God’s word is spirit and life.
And as such a believer obeys and believes in God’s word, he will experience every blessing in God’s word.
A humble believer will always follow the leading of the Holy Spirit to do the specific will of the Father in every specific situation.
He will always submit to the leading of the Holy Spirit so that he can walk in the miracle power and love of the Kingdom of Heaven every day.
A humble believer will always turn to God in prayer for all his needs because he is totally dependent on God.
And God will supply his needs immediately from His throne of grace the very moment he asks God.
And God promised that the Kingdom of Heaven is given to every believer who walks in humility.
No blessing of heaven is withheld from a child of God who lives in humility.
And such a believer will indeed always give all the glory to God for every blessing in his life, for all blessings come from our Father in heaven.
1. To be “humble” is to be “poor in spirit,” acknowledging that without God, we can do nothing good and have nothing good
MATTHEW 5:3
3 Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the Kingdom of Heaven.
[the poor in spirit = the humble]
JOHN 15:5
5 I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.
PSALM 16:2
2 I say to Yehovah, "You are my Lord; apart from you I have no good thing."
To be poor in spirit is to be humble.
To be poor in spirit is to acknowledge that without God, we can do nothing good, we can have nothing good.
In other words, to be poor in spirit or to be humble is to live in total dependence on God.
2. A humble believer will always live in total dependence on the word of God
JOHN 6:63 ESV
63 It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh is no help at all. The words that I have spoken to you are spirit and life.
JOSHUA 1:8 ESV
8 This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.
Jesus said that God’s word is spirit and life, giving life to our spirit, soul, and body.
A humble believer will therefore always meditate on God’s word daily, so that he will do everything that God has said.
In this way, the believer will always be prosperous and have great success in his work, studies, and ministry.
3. A humble believer will always live in total dependence on the Spirit of God
JOHN 16:13
13 However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth;
GALATIANS 5:25
25 Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit.
God leads every one of His children by His Spirit to make specific choices in every area of decision in their lives.
The Holy Spirit will guide us into all truth, to make the choices that are good and pleasing to God our Father.
Eg, You have 3 job offers.
Which should you take?
Eg. You have 3 marriage proposals.
Which Chrsitian man will you marry?
A humble believer must therefore always follow the leading of the Spirit in all that he does in his studies, work, and ministry.
In this way, he will always do the Father’s will, and live under an open heaven.
The power of the Holy Spirit is released when a believer obeys the leading of the Holy Spirit, so that the believer will find success in all that he does.
He will thus enjoy the blessings of the Kingdom of Heaven every day.
ACTS 1:8
8 But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth."
God’s great and awesome power is already in every believer through the Spirit of God who lives in them.
However, this power is only released when we wait on the Holy Spirit and do what He says.
4. God will give us the Kingdom of Heaven and every blessing, every grace, from heaven today when we walk in humility
MATTHEW 5:3
3 Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the Kingdom of Heaven.
JAMES 4:6 NKJ
6 But He gives more grace. Therefore, He says: “God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble.”
When we live in humility, the Kingdom of Heaven is given to us.
We can therefore receive all grace, all blessings of heaven today when we walk in humility.
But if we are proud, God will resist us and oppose us.
If we do not acknowledge our need for God and therefore, we do not obey the word of God or the Spirit of God, we will not enjoy God’s presence and power and love and blessings.
5. A humble believer will therefore always turn to God in prayer for all his needs, because he is totally dependent on God
HEBREWS 4:16
16 Let us then approach God's throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.
JAMES 4:6 NKJ
6 But He gives more grace. Therefore, He says: “God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble.”
When we turn to God in prayer, we are telling Him that we need Him, that we are totally dependent on Him.
Turning to God in prayer is an act of humility.
A humble believer will always turn to God in prayer for all his needs.
God will give His grace only to the humble, to those who are totally dependent on Him.
Therefore we can boldly and confidently go to our Father in prayer, and He will supply all our needs from His throne of grace.
Whatever we ask in the name of Jesus His Son, God will give to us (JOHN 16:24).
And He will give it to us the very moment we ask Him (MARK 11:24).
6. A humble believer will therefore always give glory and honour to God for every blessing he has received, blessings both big or small
1 CORINTHIANS 1:31
31 Therefore, as it is written: "Let the one who boasts boast in the Lord."
1 CORINTHIANS 4:7
7 For who makes you different from anyone else? What do you have that you did not receive? And if you did receive it, why do you boast as though you did not?
JAMES 1:17
17 Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.
Every blessing we have received has come from God our Father.
We must therefore give to Him all the glory and honour for all blessings and gifts we have received from Him.
We must never boast about our successes and miracles as if we received them out of our own strength and ability.
A humble believer will always give God all the glory for every blessing in his life---blessings big and small.
7. Decreeing the Decrees of Heaven
In Jesus' name, I declare and decree that .....
1. By God’s grace, I will daily live in humility, daily live in total dependence on God, acknowledging that without God, I can do nothing good and I have nothing good.
(MATTHEW 5:3; JOHN 15:5; PSALM 16:2)
2. I will therefore always live in total dependence on the word of God, meditating daily on God’s word and doing what God says.
(JOHN 6:63 ESV; JOSHUA 1:8 ESV)
3. I will therefore always live in total dependence on the Spirit of God, following His leading at all times.
(JOHN 16:13; GALATIANS 5:25; ACTS 1:8)
4. When I walk in humility, the Kingdom of Heaven is given to me and I will always receive all blessings, all grace, from heaven today. (MATTHEW 5:3; JAMES 4:6 NKJ)
5. I will therefore always turn to God in prayer for all my needs, because I am totally dependent on God.
(HEBREWS 4:16; JAMES 4:6 NKJ)
6. I will therefore always give glory and honour to God for every blessing I have received, blessings both big or small.
(1 CORINTHIANS 1:31; 1 CORINTHIANS 4:7; JAMES 1:17)

A TESTIMONY
"God touched my husband and my children to bless me when I humbled myself and agreed with the word of God”
(Part of the testimony was given during a Monday night Jubilee Prayer House meeting)
SISTER YYY:
“Many years ago, when I first met Brother Andrew, I sat down with him one time for counselling.
I told him all the problems I face in my family.
“He replied, ‘It’s very easy for God to change your husband and children.
Just agree with God and say:
“God has given me a good husband, and good children.
They have the wisdom of God and the mind of Christ.” ’
“I was very angry with him, for not saying anything about my problems with my husband or children, but only asking me to say that my husband and children are all good gifts from God.
“Later, I saw Brother Andrew again and brought up my problems again, and he gave me the very same reply again.
This time, I was even more angry.
“However, a short while later, I thought to myself:
‘I have not changed my husband after all these years.
Maybe I will follow the pastor’s advice for a change and see what will happen.’
“So I humbled myself and began to agree with God and began to declare and decree that:
‘God has given me a good husband, and good children.
They have the wisdom of God and the mind of Christ.’
“After a few months, my husband did something which I thought was impossible.
He started to give me a monthly allowance from his pension and salary.
This has never happened before in our 30 plus years of marriage.
What a great and surprising miracle!
“My children working overseas also began to send me monthly gifts of money, which again has not happened before.
I was so shocked at these miracles from God, just by my agreement with His word.
“What I could not do in 30 years of marriage, God was able to do, and change my husband’s heart, when I agree with His word.
“As I kept on decreeing that the love of God is flowing mightily between the parents and children in my family, our family relationship was transformed.
Our love for one another has grown deeper and stronger, like never before.
“Whenever we meet together nowadays for birthday celebrations and festive occasions, we are all blessed by God’s heavenly love in our family.
“And during the Covid 19 lockdown, I was able to spend time together with my husband and one of my children every day to worship God and listen to His word.
This has brought us together to an even deeper level of love between husband and wife, and between parents and child.
“I want to give all glory to God for His amazing grace shown to my family when I humbled myself and agreed with His word concerning my husband and children.
“We truly serve an awesome God!!!”
Shalom.
