RESTORATION OF GOD'S GLORY (10)
The word “authority” means “the right to use power.”
The “authority of God” means the “right to use the power of God.”
The first authority given by Jesus to His disciples after He rose from the dead was the “authority to
remit or forgive or cancel sins.”
In His ministry on earth, Jesus remitted the sins of everyone He prayed for.
And He has given us the authority to do the very same thing.
But most believers do not know about this great authority and much less know how to use it.
And because of this, their prayers are not effective or fruitful.
When Christ died on the cross, He died for the sins of everyone in this world.
So when He prayed for the sick, He could declare that their sins are forgiven, because He was the Lamb of God slain before the world was formed (REVELATION 13:8).
When the sins of the people are forgiven, then God has the legal right to bless them according to the commands and decrees of Jesus.
When the sins of the people are forgiven, God will no longer judge the people, and the devil no longer has the right to put the people into bondage, sickness, and condemnation.
And our Lord Jesus wants us all to do the same for everyone we are praying for.
Before we pray for any other blessing over the people, we must first declare that their sins are forgiven.
In this way, when we declare blessings over the people, God will bless them, set them free and heal them.
1. Jesus remitted (or forgave or cancelled) the sins of the people before He prayed for them
LUKE 7:47-48, 50
47 “Therefore, I tell you, her many sins have been forgiven—as her great love has shown. But whoever has been forgiven little loves little.”
48 Then Jesus said to her, “Your sins are forgiven.”
50 Jesus said to the woman, “Your faith has saved you; go in peace.”
Before Jesus blessed the woman in Luke 7 with salvation and peace, he said to her, “Your sins are forgiven.”
MATTHEW 9:2
2 Some men brought to Him a paralyzed man, lying on a mat. When Jesus saw their faith, He said to the man, “Take heart, son; your sins are forgiven.”
Before Jesus healed the paralysed man in Matthew 9, He said to him, “Son, your sins are forgiven.”
JOHN 5:14 NKJ
14 Afterward Jesus found him in the temple, and said to him, “See, you have been made well. Sin no more, lest a worse thing come upon you.”
After Jesus had healed a paralysed man in John 5, He said to the man, “Sin no more, lest a worse thing come upon you.”
This implied that Jesus had remitted or cancelled all his sins before Jesus healed him.
In other words, Jesus was telling the man, “Now that all your sins have been forgiven, sin no more, so that a worse disease may not come upon you.”
2. Jesus has given us this authority to remit or forgive or cancel the sins of all people that we are praying for
JOHN 20:21, 23 KJV
21 Then said Jesus to them again, Peace be unto you: as my Father hath sent me, even so send I you.
23 Whose soever sins ye remit, they are remitted unto them; and whose soever sins ye retain, they are retained.
[remit = forgive, NIV]
Jesus said, “As the Father has sent me, so I am sending you.”
Jesus said that He has sent us out to preach the Good News with the same authority that the Father has given to Him.
And the first authority that He has given to us after He rose from the dead is the authority to remit or forgive or cancel sins.
He said that this authority was given to Him by the Father.
Now He in turn has given us this authority.
Very few believers know about this authority, and even fewer know how to use it.
Because of this, our ministry to others is not effective or fruitful.
If we do not use the same authority that Jesus used, we will not be able to do the same miracles that Jesus did.
3. We must ask God daily to forgive the sins of the people in this world by using the Lord’s Prayer, and immediately believe it is done
MATTHEW 6:10-12; LUKE 11:4
10 Your Kingdom come, Your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven, in everyone in this world.
11 Give us today our daily bread.
12 And forgive us our sins, for we also forgive everyone who sins against us. (LUKE 11:4)
MARK 11:24 ESV
24 Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask in prayer, believe that YOU HAVE RECEIVED IT, and it will be yours.
Daily ask God to forgive the sins of the people of the world, by using the Lord’s prayer.
After praying, believe that your prayer has been answered immediately.
In other words, all the sins of the people of the world have been forgiven.
You can, therefore, declare to the people you pray for that “Your sins are forgiven,” before you pray for their other needs.
4. Whenever you pray for a non-believer or a new believer, you must first declare that all his are forgiven, just as Jesus did
LUKE 7:47-48, 50
47 “Therefore, I tell you, her many sins have been forgiven—as her great love has shown. But whoever has been forgiven little loves little.”
48 Then Jesus said to her, “Your sins are forgiven.”
50 Jesus said to the woman, “Your faith has saved you; go in peace.”
MATTHEW 9:1-2
1 Jesus stepped into a boat, crossed over and came to His own town.
2 Some men brought to Him a paralyzed man, lying on a mat. When Jesus saw their faith, He said to the man, “Take heart, son; your sins are forgiven.”
In this way, because their sins have been forgiven, God will bless them when you pray for their needs.
In this way, because their sins have been forgiven, God will no longer judge them.
In this way, because their sins have been forgiven, the devil can no longer harm them or oppress them.
5. When we repent of the sins of others in the land, we are called “intercessors,” believers who stand in the gap to confess the sins of others, so that God’s judgment will not fall on the people
EZEKIEL 22:30
30 "I looked for someone among them who would build up the wall and stand before me in the gap on behalf of the land so I would not have to destroy it, but I found no one.
ISAIAH 60:18
18 But you will call your walls Salvation and your gates Praise.
The authority to forgive or remit or cancel the sins of others is the basis for believers to act as intercessors, believers who are authorised to repent of the sins of others, and to declare that their sins are forgiven.
In this way, God will forgive the sins of the land, and will not destroy the land.
Instead, as the intercessors build up the walls in the land that have fallen down, by speaking and decreeing blessings over the land, God will bless the land.
The "walls" mean "salvation,” as we see in Isaiah 60:18 above.
And when we build up the walls in intercession, we are praying and declaring God's salvation and blessings over the land.
God says here that only one intercessor is enough to remit the sins of the land and pray so that God will bless the land, as promised in 2 Chronicles 7:14.
2 CHRONICLES 7:14
14 If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.
6. Decreeing the Decrees of Heaven
In Jesus' name, I declare and decree that .....
1. Jesus remitted (or forgave or cancelled) the sins of the people before He prayed for them, and I will do likewise.
(LUKE 7:47-48, 50; MATTHEW 9:1-3; JOHN 5:14 NKJ; JOHN 20:21, 23 KJV)
2. Jesus has given me the authority to remit or forgive or cancel the sins of all people that I am praying for.
(JOHN 20:21, 23 KJV)
3. I will ask God daily to forgive the sins of the people in this world by using the Lord’s Prayer, and immediately believe it is done, so that I can declare that the sins of anyone I pray for on that day are forgiven.
(MATTHEW 6:10-12; Mark 11:24 ESV)
4. Therefore, whenever I pray for a non-believer, or a new believer, I must first declare that all their sins are forgiven, just as Jesus did, so that God can bless them when I pray for them.
(LUKE 7:47-48, 50; MATTHEW 9:1-3)
5. When I repent of the sins of others in the land, I am called an “intercessor,” a believer who stands in the gap to confess the sins of others, so that God’s judgment will not fall on the people. (EZEKIEL 22:30)
6. As an intercessor, after I have asked God to forgive the sins of the people in the land, God can then bless them according to my prayers and decrees of blessings.
(MARK 11:23; EZEKIEL 22:30; 2 CHRONICLES 7:14)

A TESTIMONY
"Brother Beh, an unbeliever from BM, was healed of his brain cancer after brother Khoo remitted his sins and prayed for healing for his sickness"
BROTHER ANDREW:
"At the Balik Pulau Outreach, whenever I am asked to pray for a Hokkien-speaking or a mandarin-speaking believer or unbeliever, I will always ask Bro Khoo, our church elder, to pray for them.
“And Bro Khoo will always first remit their sins by declaring, ‘Brother, you sins are forgiven.’
“One time, about 15 years ago, when I was away in India, during our evening service at Balik Pulau, Bro Khoo prayed for an uncle from Bukit Mertajam who was dying of brain cancer.
“Bro Khoo said in Hokkien, ‘Bro Beh, your sins have been forgiven. By the wounds of Jesus your brain cancer is healed.’
"Bro Khoo then instructed this uncle to thank God every day that God has healed him.
“Within one month, he was completely healed and went back to see his friends in a coffee shop on his motorbike.
“We give God all the glory!!!”

COMMENTS (BROTHER ANDREW)
1. Forgiveness of sins and healing of every sickness belong to all men in this world.
2. These blessings have been bought by Jesus on the cross for all men.
3. When we release the forgiveness of sins to all men and declare healing over their lives, God will bless them and heal them.
4. To God be the glory for His great authority in our lives to bring blessings to others!”
