10. A SUDDEN DOWNPOUR CAME AS WE REACHED OUR MISSION FIELD
Sister GC (March 2016):
"God gave us a sign of His favour upon our mission trip by releasing a sudden downpour of rain as soon as we reached the mission field, even though the weather has been blazing hot, with no rain, for the past few weeks in Cameron Highlands.
On the 14 March, 2016, Sister CCS brought three other sisters, including myself, for a mission trip to the Orang Asli Church in Sungai Relong, to enocurage the believers there.
We started in the morning from Penang, and after 6 hours, arrived in Cameron Highlands.
The weather was extremely hot throughout the journey as well as in Cameron Highlands.
It has not rained here for a few weeks, according to the locals.
Pastor Mondon came to pick us up from the Bus Terminal, and brought us straight to a coffee shop for lunch.
As we sat down waiting for the food, a downpour came suddenly, within 10 minutes at the coffee shop.
The shop keeper told us that it has not rained for many weeks.
After this downpour, the rain did not come again for the next three days,
We left Cameron Highlands on the third day of our trip.
I believe that the downpour is a sign from God declaring that he is pleased with our trip to encourage his children in the jungle of Cameron Highlands.
All glory be to Him."
COMMENTS (Brother Andrew):
1. We carry God's glory and presence wherever we go, so that we are a blessing to those we serve, wherever God sends us.
2. In Zechariah 14, the pouring down of rain is a sign of God's blessings for the people of the world.
3. The sudden outpouring of rain in Cameron Highlands, in the midst of a season of hot weather with no rain for many weeks, is a sign that the mission team is carrying the blessings of God to the believers there.
4. It is also a sign from God to the mission team that He is with them and that He will use them mightily to be a blessing to the believers in Cameron Highlands.
Indeed, the ministry to the believers was very fruitful, with many individuals revived and many families restored.
