Idle Along class rules were fiercely contested between provincial delegates at the Moffat Cup over many years.
With the IA revival in the 1990s, the consensus was to keep the boat traditional but affordable and to keep in the spirit of the rules.
In due course we hope to add some copies of the IA plans over the decades as well as notes on the rule battles over the years.
In the interim, here is a link to the current rules as adopted in 1994 and with a minor revision removing any specification about the use of trapezes - this will be left up to the sailing instructions for any particular event. If you have any comments, please get in touch.
