Title: The geometry of cluster varieties I, II, III
abstract: Over the past few years, objects called cluster varieties have appeared in several parts of mathematics and mathematical physics. In particular, Fock and Goncharov have shown that certain constructions from geometry, including versions of the Teichmuller space and the space of measured laminations on a surface, can be studied using cluster varieties. In this series of lectures, I will review the work of Fock and Goncharov. I will also discuss my recent work on a cluster variety called the symplectic double.

Title: Introduction to vertex operator algebras I, II, III
abstract: The purpose of this series of expository talks is to give an introduction to the theory of vertex operator algebras. We will start from basic definitions and simple examples. Then we will go through important examples such as ones associated to affine Kac-Moody algebras, chiral De Rham complex on complex manifolds, and W-algebras. We will discuss various functors from the category of vertex operator algebras to classical categories such as Lie algebras, associative algebras, and Poisson algebras. The connection of vertex algebras with conformal field theory is built by introducing the concept of conformal blocks and correlation functions, which will be discussed at the later part of the series.
