Somewhat obsolete parts of this website:

[myresearch] : This is supposed to be an informal research statement for my research, but I never really updated..

[hosted] : This lists some lecture series I hosted while I was at KIAS, with the links to the lecture videos. Unfortunately, KIAS stopped servicing the recorded videos (what a shame!) at some point, so this webpage is not much of use anymore.

Nice videos

for the paper "Quantum geometry of moduli spaces of local systems and representation theory" by A.B. Goncharov and L. Shen, arXiv:1904.10491

lecture videos by A. B. Goncharov, at IHES : [1] [2] [3] [4]

  • a very nice introduction to Fock-Goncharov-Shen's moduli spaces, quantization, and representation theory, which are related to much of my own research

Mathnet Korea

https://www.youtube.com/user/TheMathnetkorea/videos

  • 2010, lectures on 'indefinite integrals' and 'Geometry' by professor Hwang, Jun-Muk (황준묵) (KIAS then, IBS-CCG now)
'기하학으로의 초대' / 대수적 함수의 부정적분. 영상 (by Mathnet Korea) : [1] [2]
    - Wonderful overview of (part of) 17c mathematics to 19c mathematics. In Korean! aimed at undergraduate students in math.

Simons Center for Geometry and Physics (youtube channel : 사이먼스 센터)

  • James Simons - Origin of Chern-Simons (2011-Jul-28)
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8VipIKLg6-k
A beautiful talk.. I learned about characteristic classes, Chern classes, and the Chern-Simons stuff.

  • Ben Davison - Motivic DT-invariants for the one loop quiver with superpotential (2011-Dec-13)
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=an136Kt6oqg
    I think I learned something..

  • Pierrick Bousseau - 10/1/2020 - Skein algebras from higher genus mirror symmetry (2020-Oct-1)
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wvbDET7nffg
about paper 2009.02266. This is where the positivity of the bracelets bases of the Kauffman bracket skein algebras of 4-punctured sphere and of once-punctured torus is proved for the first time in the literature. Used the scattering diagrams and broken lines (i.e. mirror symmetry), but seems quite different to me from Davison-Mandel (and Gross-Hacking-Keel-Kontsevich)

  • Sean Keel - Mirror Symmetry Made Easy (2012-May-15)
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CldVBxgp67o
about Gross-Hacking-Keel's work. theta functions etc. I think I learned something by this video..

Institute for Advanced Study (youtube channel)
https://www.youtube.com/user/videosfromIAS

  • Canonical coordinates for Calabi Yau manifolds I - Sean Keel (2017-Mar-2)
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ibsc1fyEYXg
Great (introductory) talk for log CY.. I should watch it again..
(part of Workshop on Homological Mirror Symmetry: Methods and Structures (https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLdDZb3TwJPZ4tU6XoRDGyI22qAsvYMVmh))

  • Canonical coordinates for Calabi Yau manifolds II - Sean Keel (2017-Mar-4)
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=okvHL2SoJTg
Continuation of the above. This one requires more algebraic geometry, hence harder for me to understand. But this one includes some reason why Keel was interested in mirror symmetry in the first place, and suggests some good problem(s).

Some more by Hacking or Keel

  • Mirror symmetry and cluster algebras – Paul Hacking & Sean Keel – ICM2018
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dfznr8BUEw4
supposed to be introductory, but requires some algebraic geometry and mirror symmetry. Trying to learn..

some more by Mandel

  • Travis Mandel (Oklahoma) (2021-May-05, Algebraic Geometry @ Nottingham)

title is "Quantum theta bases for quantum cluster algebras". talk about his work with Davison. Quite elementary (and introductory) explanations. Great talk! Not so much into details, but he points out some crucial points of his work. Good to get a bird's-eye view.
