The Community Centre was originally built in 1905 as the village school.
It became the Community Centre in 1984, when a new school was built.
This plaque acknowledges the building's origins as part of
Hunmanby's Millennium Trail


Hunmanby Community Centre is also home to Hunmanby Parish Council
The entrance to the Parish Office and Council Chamber is at the back of the building.

There will be a Macmillan World's Biggest Coffee Morning at the Centre on Saturday 28th September from 10 to 12 noon. This is being organised by Sue Gammage, who raised over £700 last year. Help her to beat that total this year!

Hunmanby Parent & Tots Group meets Tuesday/Friday mornings 9.30 am at the Centre (Room 6). Just turn up with some toys to share and £2 to help pay for the room. For 2018 dates, see our Monthly Events Page or their Facebook page HERE.

Annual Apple Pressing Day: Saturday October 6th 9.30 am to 2 pm.
Bring your apples along to be pressed by Hedge-Hoggers Cider and turned into Cider or Apple Juice - all for free!
Feel free to bring apples along at any time during the day.
There will be Games, a Baking Competition, Local Stalls, a Pumpkin Lantern Competition, a Dance Demonstration, Craft Stalls, Face Painting, an Art Display and more!
We will have home-made sandwiches, cakes, tea & coffee and of course a Cider Bar.
Entry is FREE.

Saturday 28 July
Wookalily, an all-women band all the way from Northern Ireland, wowed our audience. They were great. We loved their music.

Saturday 28 April Grist to the Mill Theatre Company presented ...
The Unknown Soldier This was an amazing one-man performance, both moving and fascinating and totally absorbing.

Saturday 3 March: The Tom Townsend Band A full house, despite the weather, with wonderful music and a very appreciative audience. Many thanks to Tom, the band and the crowd for turning out in foul weather and making it a great evening.

2017
Friday 8 December: Annual Christmas Evening  A fun evening with great drama from Hunmanby Drama Club and carols with Village Brass. Next year's date is Friday December 7th 2018 at 7.00 pm.

Saturday 11 November: Holy Moly & the Crackers was sold out and was a roaring success.

Saturday 21 October: Apple Pressing Day was a succesful and enjoyable day.
Hundreds of apples were turned into juice or cider for FREE, there were stalls, a great dance display by Zoe's Dance, a Cider Bar, Apple Juice Bar, an Appley Baking Competition, Face Painting and of course delicious home baked cakes with tea and coffee.
When the proceeds have been counted, half will be donated to Hunmanby Community Centre's new Parent & Tots Group and the other half to improvements to the Centre. Photographs of the day HERE

Friday 8 September: The Jigantics
The Jigantics were new to Hunmanby and they went down a storm. Great foot-tapping stuff. They enjoyed themselves and so did we.

Friday 7 July: Dave Kemp & The Unkempt
A great night with Dave Kemp in Hunmanby. Wonderful music and lots of humour. A very happy audience.

Saturday 22 April: The Hut People
An amazing evening with these two great guys. Never have so many instruments been played by so few! Brilliant!

Saturday 4 March: Buffalo Skinners
Buffalo Skinners returned to Hunmanby after a great sell out gig in September 2015. Their energetic folk-rock went down a storm and they're lovely people who had a great rapport with the audience.
They've played Glastonbury, BBC Live in Hyde Park ... and Hunmanby. Can't be bad.

2016
Friday 9 December 2016   
Annual Christmas Evening
with carols from Village Brass and comedy from Hunmanby Drama Club. There was, of course, mulled wine & mince pies. And it wouldn't have been the same without Bob's Bob Up & Down Bingo!

Merry Hell - the fantastic folk/rock band. We thought they'd be good, but they were amazing! Despite being full, lots of people ended up dancing because they just couldn't keep still. Superb.

The wonderful Snake Davis & The Burden of Paradise
delighted a packed community centre with their fantastic music and relaxed and friendly relationship with the audience, earning themselves a standing ovation. Brilliant.

We had a great evening with Dave Kemp and The Unkempt. Wonderful music and a very appreciative audience.

Wow! What a night. Hunmanby rocked. The Crackers were fantastic - talented musicians and really nice people too.
We loved hosting them.

Tour de Yorkshire May 1st 2015
The community Centre looked great and we had a fantastic day. We served refreshments and
raised over £160 for the people of Nepal. Crowds gathered outside to see the cyclists go by.

Our Music for a Summer's Evening slot this year welcomed a return to Hunmanby for Raven.
It was an excellent evening, with a lovely atmosphere and great music.

Red Ladder Theatre Company in Wrong 'Un
Saturday March 1st 2014

What a great evening! The play was a sellout with standing room only and the feedback really positive. Ella Harris was a revelation as suffragette Annie Wilde. On stage on her own for an hour. Wonderful.

A one-woman suffragette musical written by Boff Whalley and directed by Justin Audibert.
The famous radical theatre company Red Ladder are one of Britain’s leading national touring companies.

John Sampson's music was the perfect foil for Carol Ann's poetry.
