About Me

David West

As a native of Nottingham, England I trained first as an accountant then as a computer programmer. Making a career of computing I working in Birmingham, London, and eventually Manchester.

Then I emigrated to Thailand, and have now also lived in China and Laos.

I built a computer software house, starting as a one-man-band, producing software which progressed through accounting, sales order processing, payroll, transport systems and stock control and eventually signed a contract to take care of the in-warehouse logistics of Coca Cola.

I experienced success in British motor rallying by being the accompanying the winning driver in Group 1 championship on two consecutive years, and filled the rest of my spare time with the renovation of our old Victorian house.

I became disillusioned with life, so set out on a search for more meaning, and was fortunate to find it in the foothills of the Himalayas.

I now live in Laos with my wife, daughter 2 dogs and 12 cats. Here I edit Sunday Family Humour and write on self-actualization, and self-empowerment of mind, body and spirit.
