How To Create And Use Groups In Hotmail

You can group multiple email addresses in a specific group in Hotmail. This will make it easier for you to send emails to more than one person without typing each address individually. This article shows you how to create a group (a contact list or a mailing list) in Hotmail and Outlook.

How to create a group in Hotmail?

Step 1: Log into your Hotmail/Outlook account.

Step 2: Click in the upper-left corner.

Step 3: Select People.

Step 4: Click the down arrow icon next to New contact and select New contact list.

Step 5: Enter a Contact list name.

Step 6: Enter a name or an email address of the person you want to add to the contact list. Then, select the right one from the drop-down list. You can add how many members as you want.

Step 7: Type a group description (optional).

Step 8: Click Create.

How to use a contact list in Hotmail?

Send an email to a group or a contact list

Step 1: Click + New message to start composing a new email.

Step 2: Enter a group name into the To field and select the right one from the drop-down list.

Step 3: Compose your message.

Step 4: Click Send.

Add or delete members to a group or a contact list

Step 1: Click at the top left of your Hotmail inbox page.

Step 2: Select People.

Step 3: Click My contact lists in the left column and select a group you want to add new members.

Step 4: Click Edit.

Step 5: Add new members or click the X button to the right of a member you want to delete.

You can also change other group's information including name and description.

Step 6: Click Save.

Delete a group or a contact list

Step 1: Click at the top left.

Step 2: Select People.

Step 3: Click My contact lists in the left column and select a group you want to delete.

Step 4: Click Delete.

Step 5: Click Delete again to confirm your action.

Export a contact list

Step 1: Click at the top left.

Step 2: Select People.

Step 3: Click My contact lists in the left column and select a group you want to export contacts.

Step 4: Click Manage and select Export contacts.

Step 5: Click Export.

Step 6: Select a folder to save your file and click Save.
