Block a sender on Outlook

When you no longer want to receive messages from someone for whatever reasons, you can block them from sending you messages. Follow these steps to block a sender on Outlook.com.

How to block a sender on the classic Outlook.com

Step 1: Go to Outlook and log into your account.

Step 2: Click the Gear icon in the upper-right corner of the page and select Options.

Step 3: In the Junk email section, click Blocked senders.

Step 4: Type the email address or domain that you want to block and click the icon to add.

Step 5: Click Save when you're done.

You can edit or remove an address by selecting an email address on the list then clicking the icon to edit or the icon to remove that address. Then, click Save to confirm your action.

How to block a sender on the Outlook.com beta

Step 1: Go to Outlook and log into your account.

Step 2: Click the Gear icon, scroll to the bottom and select View full settings.

Step 3: In the Mail section, click Junk email.

Step 4:

If you want to block an email address, enter the email address into the box right under Blocked senders and click Add.

To block a domain, enter the domain into the box under Blocked domains and click Add.

Step 5: Click Save.

To unblock a sender, you just need to select the address or domain you want to unblock and click the icon. Remember to click Save to save your changes.
