This socially distance walk was completed by 4 groups.
Resting by the Bridge Over River Gissard.
The primroses did not know about the frost coming the next day!

Two groups took part in this socially distanced walk.
A varied walk ..

.. fields ..
. and past a lake (with a rainbow).

Walkers were divided into four groups for this socially distanced walk.
Along the River Otter
to Harpford.
Through Harpford woods
with its streams.
Then panoramic views of Tipton St John
Leaders: Val B., JohnB.
Back markers:
Photos: the walkers were so enthralled by the walk that no-one took photographs!
This socially distance walk was led in two separate groups of six.

Note: this walk was run as two separate walks with ten in each group. The two groups met half an hour apart at different ends of the car park.
The walk took us around the edge of the Castle Neroche hill fort.
"It's a hill fort - surely there are views!"
"How about this one?"
"Or this one?"
Some of the locals were friendly ...
... but we were less sure about others.

Note: this was a socially-distanced walk with limited numbers that replaced the planned walk because of illness. Those on the walk were grateful to Brian H for stepping in at the last minute.
The locals had not herd (sic) about social distancing ...
whereas we were scrupulous!
We crossed open fields ...
climbed the slopes ...
trusted the technology ...
enjoyed the views ...
admired the lake ...
and explored the woods.
Leaders: Doreen K, Ian W, Keith M
Note: this was a socially-distanced walk with limited numbers. Three groups set off at different times, timing their walks perfectly, so as one group left the Branscombe cafe, another arrived! Note: the undercliff route is not suitable for people who experience vertigo, but you can avoid this section by walking along the path at the top of the cliff between Branscombe and Beer.
Leaving Beer, there was a lovely view of it nestling in the valley.
Then on towards Branscombe -
where the shorefront cafe offered welcome refreshments.,
The on to the majestic cliffs rising above the undercliff path ...
.. a steep ascent that was rewarded with the view to the west ...
... and to the east was Beer.
Then, from a field above Beer, Seaton was seen atop its red cliffs.
Leaders: Linda M, Jo F, Steve F
Note: this was a socially-distanced walk with limited numbers. Two groups went clockwise round this circular walk, starting a short time apart, and the other group went clockwise. One group was delayed considerably by a tempting blackberry bush or two!

We started (or ended) with a triangular bridge.
Crossed several others - not all as robust as this one.
Went through gates ...
... but avoided this unconventional one!
Watched by the locals.
Through some fields with spectacular views...
... and others more limited.
And past a farm with potential as a film set.
Leaders: Liz W. and Ian W.
Note: this was a socially-distanced walk with limited numbers. Two leaders each led their group of walkers in opposite directions round this circular walk.

Note: this was the first socially-distanced walk with limited numbers. Two leaders each led their group of five walkers in opposite directions round this circular walk. Social distancing meant that there seven cars were needed to transport the ten walkers.
Two socially distanced walks ...
... in opposite directions ...
... with two leaders ...
... crossing at the mid-way point ...
... enjoying the company ...
.... and the sunshine.

We set off along the bridleway (sorry, waterway),
braving the wooden bridge,
artfully leaping stiles,
but sometimes the mud fought back.
Undeterred we continued upwards
to be rewarded by the view
and the local installation art.
We even returned to the cars before the rain set in.

Sun and snowdrops were out
Despite the sunshine ...
... we took part in "walking on ice" ...
... and past the frost.
The locals looked on ...
... while we enjoyed the blue skies ...
... pleased that the only water was in the ford ...
... until we learned otherwise!
