2. A Peruvian Vipertooth went on a rampage burning everything in sight for many days. The Obliviators you work with need at least 3 good excuses for the fires at rapid-fire speed. Hurry!
Please choose one of the following options.
Option 1 - Logical Excuses (30 points)
The Muggle-Worthy Excuse Committee recently had a very busy week. The Accidental Magic Reversal Squad was called on every weekday (Monday to Friday). They needed a different excuse for each magical incident (including a broken bridge). There was also a different number of Muggle witnesses at each scene. You ask 5 Obliviators for information. Can you determine which day each magical incident occurred, the excuse made by the Muggle-Worthy Excuse Committee, and the number of witnesses?
1. The 5 magical incidences are dementors breeding, an Ashwinder egg setting a building on fire, the one that used an earthquake as the excuse, and the ones that happened on Wednesday and Thursday.
2. The cigarette excuse was three days before the hurricane excuse. Both of these incidences did not have 6 witnesses.
3. The total number of witnesses over the entire week was 60. The incident with the alien excuse had half the number of witnesses the incident on Thursday did.
4. There were rampaging hippogriffs two days after the volcanic ash excuse (which did not have 15 witnesses see the incident).
5. The Vanishing Cabinet incident was the day after the incident with 9 witnesses, but two days before the earthquake excuse. The Ashwinder egg incident had twice the number of witnesses as the dementor incident.
