Due: January 14 @ 11:59PM HOL Time
1. What do the letters in the ABC principle stand for?
2. Explain how dittany works.
3. What is used for a blocked airway?
4. Why is the thumb never used to take pulses?
5. What is the main focus of a Accidental Magic Reversal Squad Healer?
1. Describe how you would handle the following situation as a Healer on the Accidental Magic Reversal Squad: A wizard has splinched his right leg and is clearly in a lot of pain. A young boy around age 5 is hiding in a bush, crying. Standing nearby is his father who is extremely furious. His wife is next to him with a baby in her arms.
2. Find a carotid, brachial, and/or radial pulse of yourself or another person. Count the number of beats for 30 seconds and multiply by 2 to get the heart rate. Try doing a few jumping jacks and take the pulse again. Tell me all your findings. (i.e. Did you have trouble finding certain pulses? What was the heart rate?)
Please choose one of the following options.
Option 1 - Hurt and Healers (30 points)
Under each of these trees is a person who was hurt in the accident. You must make sure a Healer attends to each victim (horizontally or vertically). Healers give each other plenty of room to work and do not touch, not even diagonally. The numbers on the side tell you how many Healers are in each row or column. Upload the completed puzzle to an image-hosting site and send the link. No attachments will be open.
Option 2 - Beast Beat (30 points)
During a slow week, Headquarters decided to make the Healers locate pulses of creatures other than humans. They found many creatures wanted to volunteer for this project. You may choose any creature. Write a report of your findings for Headquarters, including your methodology. Headquarters is also willing to accept a diagram as long as you upload the diagram to an image-hosting site and send the link. Attachments will not be open.
