About the speaker:
Dr. Olaf Werder is the Director of the Master of Health Communication program and holds a lectureship in health as well as strategic communication at the Media and Communications Department of the University of Sydney. Prior to his academic appointment, he has worked in the communication industry on the media and agency side in two countries for about ten years. His current research interests are centred on socio-cultural understanding of health in population and media, public risk perception, translational research approaches, community-based participation research (CBPR), drivers of policy, and effective coordination of agencies’ response to disease outbreaks and unhealthy lifestyle choices.
