2014 Events
January. Vauxhall/NineElms walk. Introduction to the massive social and environmental changes under way, people who lived at Brunswick House, candle making, how Nine Elms became a London rail terminus, the organisations of railwaymen, how Nine Elms then became home to New Covent Garden Market. This walk is part of Vauxhall Society’s programme for Vauxhall BID.
March and May. From Gun Running to Philanthropy.Katherine Low and Her Family at Battersea Society AGM and Katherine Low Settlement 90th Birthday celebration.
May. Led discussion on the importance of heritage at Battersea Community Forum meeting.
May and June. 4 walks about John Archer's Battersea, two talks on John Archer and one on voluntary action in Battersea and Wandsworth during the First World War during the Wandsworth Heritage Festival.
July: Crystal Palace and the Edwardian roller-skating boom. Part of Croydon Heritage Festival.
