Since a guide for this area, that also includes Alcove Dome and Lizard Head, is available for sale (see "Contact Us" page), only an access map and a couple of photos are included. In January 2020, the guide is available at Granite Arch, or can be purchased from this editor via the site link on the "Contact Us" page. Unfortunately, mailing costs increase the price by 40%.
In this specific vicinity, from lower to upper areas, the rocks are called: Goblet Wall, Middle Ground, and Button Tower. West Rock is to the west of the Button Tower, and can be accessed from the western rockfall or from above near the top of the Button Tower.
When driving in to the Spires, and a hundred meters before the road makes it last left-hand turn and heads downhill to the main parking area, there is a wide spot where one can park two to four cars. From there, walk a short distance southwest on the main road, then turn right, and up, on an old logging road, heading for Lizard Head. Upon reaching the flat log landing / camping spot, go to its back and start up and a little right, zigzagging towards Lizard Head. A ways back, you will turn right and head uphill in a sort-of ravine. Access to Lizard Head takes off left a short way up this ravine.
As of he end of 2019, this editor re-cleared all the access trails, and trails around the rocks, in a very time-consuming effort. However, it will be dependent on future climbers to maintain these accesses; please bring a pair of nippers and spend a few minutes keeping the brush at bay. If you are unwilling to help in this manner, please climb elsewhere.
