There has been a limited amount of route development within the Spires proper since the last Supertopo guide was published. Development of the Goblet Wall / Middle Ground / Button Tower / West Rock area, and Alcove Dome, has been more extensive. These last-mentioned areas are highly amenable to toproping, not a common occurrence at the Spires.
Even the main access trails have narrowed to as little as 30 cm, and it's apparent that a huge amount of work would be involved in returning those trails to their former glories. Please bring your clippers and do five minutes of trail work on the way in.
The road in to the Spires continues to deteriorate. When some softball-sized or larger loose rocks appear in the road, please stop and throw them off to the side. Perhaps someone has the tools to remove some of the larger, imbedded, tire-destroying rocks.
Not shown on this site is one route, on Middle Spire, facing west, called "I Can't Believe A Girl Did It", 12a. Editor was not able to obtain a photo or diagram of the route.
