There was a lot of information for the league owners to understand and adjust to in the 2017 offseason, and it will be included below.

There will be a $170 overall salary cap and a $100 keeper cap for each franchise.

HOW DO I RE-SIGN MY PLAYERS FOR THE 2017-18 SEASON?

We are going to use this simplified system for the 2017 offseason. It will focus on the translated salary numbers, and not draft rounds. There will be a Keeper Cap of $100 to re-sign your players for 2017-18. The total auction budget will be $170, and the in-season hard salary cap will be $200.

$1 to $10 salary = $1 increase

$11 to $20 salary = $2 increase

$21 to $30 salary = $3 increase

$31 to $40 salary = $4 increase

$41 to $50 salary = $5 increase

$51+ salary = $6 increase

WAYS TO RE-SIGN PLAYERS

There are two ways to re-sign players on your current roster for 2017-18.

NORMAL CONTRACT: Pay the cost stated above.

OPTION YEAR CONTRACT: This is a one year contract where the player's salary is frozen. However, after that one season, the player earns unrestricted free agency and becomes draft eligible again, available for any team to bid on him in the annual HAC Auction.

OTHER NEWS AND NOTES

--Re-signing a player will add a year onto their “contract” with your team. Meaning, if you see that a player has a “1st” in his contract column on Fantrax, that means he has been re-signed once. If you choose to re-sign that player again, it will be the second year on his contract. A player may only be on a contract for four seasons before going back into the auction.

--New owners George, Robert and Monte will be given the freedom to reverse Option Year Contracts that were given by previous owners. It is their franchise now, time for them to make the decisions.

--HAC Coins will be available to all owners. However, as of July they will need to go through a major revision. I will let everyone know when that has been properly done.

--The in-season hard salary cap is $200. Not every team will get $200 right away, but can trade to acquire temporary cap money from other teams to reach a limit of $200 in a season. Any temporary cap money acquired during a season is taken away at the conclusion of a season.

--Keepers will be due on September 25. HAC Coins will be awarded to owners who submit their keepers earlier than this. More than one month early will earn 50 coins. One month early will earn 40 coins. Each week after that will deduct 10 coins from the prize until the keeper deadline.
