Rundt 15. desember hvert år samles Hellemyrsfolket med fruer til hedensk fiskefest på restaurant Enhjørningen. De fleste spiser lutefisk, mens hyttebaron Markussen velger å innta landbasert pattedyr i noe varierende anretning.
Under måltidets gang avskråles ymse drikkeviser, før Hellemyrsfolket høytidsstemt avbryter resten av spisegjestenes matro ved å synge "O Lutefisk", henimot firstemt, til melodi fra gammel, tysk folketone *

Lutefisk must be one of the craziest dishes on the face of the Earth. Lutefisk translates to 'Lye fish', and that is just what it is - dried and salted fish that has been soaked in lye for å couple of days, and then cooked. The result is of course an alcalic piece of fish that glows in the dark. It is served with boiled potatoes, mustard, mashed peas, fried bacon etc. etc. With your lutefisk, you dring beer and the typical norwegian akvavit - a caraway flavored liquor. If you begin your meal by drinking half a liter of akvavit, the lutefisk seem less scary - but unless you continue the akvvavit until you lose conciousness completely, your first encounter with the lutefisk will be an unforgettable experience.
