Dr. Hedrick incorporates Google Sites into his teaching for COM375 Internet Production, a practice begun in 2011. The main reason for utilizing it is the ability to require students to register only once, and be able to access: Blogger, Youtube, and Google Sites - all three of which are needed to complete assignments. Many students already have either a G-Mail or Youtube Account, so most don't have to create a new account (which saves time).
Google Sites for Outside Promotion (examples)
Calhoun Hispanics - site for the Calhoun County Hispanic American Association (disbanded in 2012); many of the videos embedded in this site have been uploaded to Youtube.
Madison Class of 1975 Reunion - official site for 40-year reunion; this site has a countdown feature incorporated, allows visitors to purchase tickets via PayPal, has links to and photos of the 40-year Reunion hotel - The Handlery, and utilizes Google Forms to collect alumni information that is aggregated on Google Drive.
