Dr. Hedrick's community service with the Calhoun County Hispanic American Association (CCHAA) dates back to September 2007 when he began DJ'ing (Headmaster of Soul) at the campus radio station, WLJS - 91.9 fm. One Saturday he talked with a fellow DJ, John Morales of Latin Sounds, and John suggested that Dr. Hedrick stick around after his show for an informal CCHAA meeting. He met CCHAA president Gladys Denizard that day and has been working with that organization ever since. He has held officer position there from 2007-2012, including vice president and events coordinator. The main events he organized and promoted for them annually included: (1) Health, Education, & Wellness Fairs (every Fall during or close to Hispanic Heritage month); (2) Winter Wear Clothing Drive (collection for distribution to needy families on Three Kings day - January 5th, January 6th); (3) Annual Picnic (an event of celebration in late July or early August). He also worked as their webmaster, creating an official site and social media presence.
