In addition to the technological and public relations skills that have been shared throughout this web site,
Dr. Hedrick has become a radio DJ with the campus radio station. He has a collection of over 1000 CD's
and a state-of-the-art stereo system. He has an expertise with older classic rock and classic R&B music that has
been developed over the years, working in a record store when he was in ninth and tenth grades
before going to work for an electronics company.
His father was an expert with electronics, creating a hi-fi system with Altec-Lansing Voice of the Theater speakers,
two professional Ampex (1/2" and 1" studio) reel-to-reel recorders, a Dual turntable, a Teac Cassette Recorder
with an early Dolby system, a Panasonic 8-track recorder, a Marantz 80-watt Amplifier and separate Pre-Amplifier,
a Kenwood Tuner, and a Kenwood Ocilloscope - all of this around 1970.
He has worked in quality assurance for iVac (medical electronics, famous for their handheld thermometers),
Macom Link-A-Bit (satellite communication technologies), and at Beckman Industrial during his first career,
before returning to school and becoming a professor.
He worked as freelance graphic designer in 1998 and 1999, creating PR brochures, restaurant menus,
and artwork for VHS tape and CDs.
