Dr. Jeffrey B. Hedrick served as an Assistant Professor of Communication at Huston-Tillotson University in Austin TX until 2024. Before that, he served as a Journalism lecturer at University of Utah Asia campus (located in Incheon, South Korea). He teaches a wide variety of courses, including introduction to news writing, specialty reporting, and mass communication history. His research interests focus on scholastic journalism, assessment of learning outcomes, media convergence, and technology use. He has ten years of teaching experience at Jacksonville State University (ACEJMC accredited program) and Baker University where he served as media adviser to the yearbook and online version of the Baker Orange. He has served as the webmaster for several organizations and academic departments in the past, including the Great Lakes Interscholastic Press Association while at BGSU.
